Aromatherapy Oils Can Stop Insomnia

Aromatherapy Oils Can Stop Insomnia

Anxiety and stress are primary causes of insomnia.  If you are not getting enough sleep due to financial stress, raising kids, work, or whatever, then consider trying aromatherapy oils as a natural sleep aid.

Aromatherapy oils can help relax you, especially when added to a very warm bath at bedtime.  Here are my favorites (in alphabetical order):

Basil:  supposed to naturally calm the nervous system
Chamomile: very calming, a great idea if you have GERD or indigestion
Clary sage:  it’s like a sedative.  You shouldn’t use if consuming alcohol.
Lavender:  soothing and eases aches and pains that lead to insomnia.
Marjoram: Sedative that should be used sparingly.  It can leave you feeling groggy the next day.

You should add just a few drops to your warm bath.  Relax for about 20 minutes in the tub.  Get into bed immediately.  No TV.  Read a book if you want.  Good night!
